Weingut Umathum

The winery is located in Frauenkirschen in Burgenland on the eastern side of the Neusiedlersee. Josef took the lead of the winery in 1985 and since them, the estate has been one of the leading quality producer of Austria. I rate him in my top 5 red wine producers of Austria, alongside Weingut Kollwentz or Moric.

Weingut Umathum specialises in red wines but offers the full range of products, red, white, bubbles and sweet wines. All of them display a stunning level of quality. 

His top range of red wine focus on the terroir with combination of one grape, one soil and one microclimate. These are stunning red, among the best wines you can find in Europe.
